Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  When it’s time to move into your new home, consider the benefits of donating to a local charity.  Below is a list of a few organizations that will accept anything from clothing to vehicles and they’ll even pick up the donations straight from your home.

Areas: Richmond, Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield

Caritas: Does charge $30 to pick up. Accepts: vehicles, furniture and household goods, small appliances, tools. Does not accept: clothing, non-perishables.

Virginia Supportive Housing: Cannot pick up. Accepts: paper products, cleaning supplies, non-perishables.

Habitat for Humanity: Accepts: vehicles, trucks, boats, construction materials. Tax break for donations.

Diversity Thrift: Accepts: clothing, furniture. No charge to pick up.

Good Samaritan: Accepts: clothing, furniture, electronics, vehicles. No charge to pick up. To donate vehicles, contact John Konek, 804-231-9995.
